The Senior School

Girls enter Senior School at 11+ where they follow a wide curriculum enhanced by an extensive range of opportunities which develop their individual skills and interests and broaden their understanding of themselves and their place in society.

Small teaching groups ensure every girl is well known by staff and allow for individual learning programmes tailored so each girl's strengths are challenged and developed and any needs addressed.

Being a small school, pupils have the opportunity of becoming fully involved in the wide range of curricular and extra-curricular activities on offer.

drama productions, festivals and LAMDA examinations
instrumental and singing lessons and opportunities to perform
competitive sport with opportunities to progress to County, Regional and National levels
Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
local and national competitions in maths and the technologies
day and residential trips
working with partner schools in Europe
exchange visits to Belgium, Denmark and Germany

The House system is a strong feature of Senior School and enables girls of different ages to work together in sporting and cultural activities and in raising money for charity. Houses provide an additional level of friendship and support with older girls acting as role models for younger ones.

An excellent PSHE and Careers programme ensures girls are well prepared to make decisions about the next stage of their education and to move on successfully.
