Learning at St Andrews
Throughout the different parts of the school, our broad and balanced curriculum, excellent teaching and high quality pastoral care ensure that your daughter or son achieves his or her academic best.
In our school all pupils are well known by their teachers and support staff. In small class sizes teachers are able to understand your daughter’s or son’s talents, abilities and needs and meet them through high quality teaching, making learning fun as well as efficient.
As your child moves through the school, they continue to learn in encouraging and supportive teaching environments. As they grow older they are encouraged to take more risks and assume more responsibility for their learning, working in close partnership with their teachers.
At all times, your daughter’s or son’s progress is regularly monitored and support or challenge provided, as appropriate, to ensure that he or she achieves her best.
If your son or daughter has a particular gift or talent for a subject or activity, we encourage them to develop their abilities to the full, through participation in interesting and challenging activities, both inside and outside the classroom.
If your child has a learning need that requires support, St Andrew’s has excellent people and resources to meet that need.
An individual learning programme will be planned with you and your daughter or son. This will be implemented and monitored by our skilled and experienced staff, so your child develops the confidence and skills they need to manage their learning need and achieve their full academic potential.
